Chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, has departed for a five day official visit to India.

According to the party, Lamichhane is visiting India at the invitation of Nitin Nabin, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is scheduled to return to Nepal on June 5.

The visit was formally announced through a press statement issued by the Rastriya Swatantra Party on Sunday. Party spokesperson Manish Jha said Lamichhane will hold several high level political and diplomatic meetings during his stay in New Delhi.

However, the party has not disclosed detailed information about the agenda of the meetings.

The visit comes as the Rastriya Swatantra Party continues to expand its political engagement both within Nepal and abroad. Political observers are closely watching the trip, which is expected to have diplomatic and political importance.

More details about the meetings and their outcomes are expected after Lamichhane returns to Kathmandu.
