RSP Candidates Shrestha and Khanal Secure Win from Kathmandu

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidates Biraj Bhakta Shrestha and Shishir Khanal won the House of Representatives elections from Kathmandu.

Shrestha emerged victorious from Kathmandu-8, and Khanal from Kathmandu-6.

Shrestha obtained 24,592 votes, defeating his closest rival Suman Sayami of the Nepali Communist Party by a wide margin. Sayami received 3,217 votes.

Nepali Congress candidate Sapana Rajbhandari was in third place with 2,835 votes.

Similarly, Khanal beat his nearest contender Sabuj Baniya of the Nepali Congress by a wide margin of more than 21,000 votes. Khanal obtained 27,719 votes while Baniya received 6,647 votes.

CPN-UML’s Aman Maskey secured 4,373 votes.
