Rasuwagadhi Hydropower to Undergo 22 Day Shutdown for Restoration Works
The 111 MW Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project which is located in Timure of Rasuwa District's Gosaikunda Rural Municipality, will remain shut down for 22 days from Jestha 22 to Ashad 13 to carry out critical restoration and reconstruction works ahead of the monsoon season.
The project had suffered extensive damage to it's structures and electro mechanical equipment following a massive glacial flood on Ashad 24, 2082 forcing a complete halt in power generation. Following partial restoration efforts, all three generating units have resumed operation.
According to the company, the power plant shutdown has been approved by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and is aimed at completing remaining rehabilitation works to ensure uninterrupted operation at full capacity during the upcoming rainy season.
The company noted that the shutdown schedule may be adjusted based on on-site conditions in coordination with the NEA. However, it remains committed to completing all plant restoration activities within the approved 22 day period.
