Rastriya Banijya Bank Launches 3D Secure Service for Safer E-Commerce Transactions
Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited (RBBL), in collaboration with Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL), has launched the 3D Secure ACS service to enhance security in e-commerce transactions.
The new system will allow RBBL debit and credit cardholders to conduct online payments with improved safety through OTP-based identity verification and additional authentication features. Customers are required to enable the 3D Secure feature on their cards to use the service.
The bank stated that this initiative will help make digital transactions more secure and encourage greater adoption of e-commerce in Nepal. NCHL noted that its ACS solution supports various card services, including issuance, transaction processing, settlement, and payment gateway services for member banks and financial institutions.
Currently, multiple banks, including Everest Bank, Muktinath Bikas Bank, Garima Bikas Bank, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank, Citizens Bank, Laxmi Sunrise Bank, Machhapuchchhre Bank, Prabhu Bank, Prime Commercial Bank, Siddhartha Bank, Jyoti Bikas Bank, Lumbini Development Bank, and Sangrila Development Bank, are also offering e-commerce card services through NCHL’s ACS platform.
