Rastriya Banijya Bank Expands Affordable Agricultural Lending Across Nepal
Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited (RBBL) is prioritizing investment in productive sectors, especially agriculture, by providing large-scale concessional loans to farmers and agribusinesses. By the end of Chait 2082, the bank has disbursed over Rs. 39.53 billion in agricultural credit at low interest rates, along with reduced processing fees to encourage farmers.
The bank offers various targeted loan schemes, including province-specific agricultural loans of up to Rs. 5 million at 4.75% interest and a simplified small farmer loan of up to Rs. 1 million without processing fees. It also provides farmer credit card services to support agricultural financing needs.
To improve service delivery, RBBL has introduced dedicated agricultural credit policies, established a specialized Agriculture and Social Banking Department, and deployed agricultural experts across its offices. With 314 branches nationwide, the bank ensures rural farmers have access to credit and regularly conducts financial awareness programs.
Through these initiatives, the bank aims to modernize agriculture, increase productivity, generate employment, and strengthen rural economic development in line with government priorities.
