Raskot Municipality has introduced a door-to-door distribution system for social security allowances, ensuring easier access for beneficiaries, particularly senior citizens and differently-abled individuals.

Under the initiative, municipal officials visited beneficiaries at their homes and directly distributed the social security allowance amounts, aiming to make the process more convenient for those who face difficulties traveling to collection centers. The program primarily targeted elderly citizens and persons with disabilities residing in different wards of the municipality.

According to Hukum Shahi, Chief of the Social Development Section at Raskot Municipality, a total of 122 beneficiaries received the allowances during the distribution drive. Among them, 45 recipients were from Ward No. 6, 25 from Ward No. 7, 18 from Ward No. 8, and 34 from Ward No. 9.

Shahi said the municipality has coordinated with a commercial bank to facilitate the distribution process, making it more efficient and beneficiary-friendly. The initiative is expected to help vulnerable groups receive government support without the burden of traveling long distances, particularly in remote areas of the district.

The municipality’s doorstep service has been seen as a practical step toward improving public service delivery and ensuring social security benefits reach citizens in a more accessible and inclusive manner.
