Process Begins for Construction of 400kV Bajhang-Banlek Transmission Line

The National Transmission Grid Company Limited has initiated the process to construct the Bajhang-Banlek (West Seti) power transmission line, designed to carry 2,500 megawatts of electricity.

The 400kV transmission line will run 60 kilometres from Chainpur Substation in Bajhang district to Banlek in Shikhar Municipality-10, Doti district.

The Grid Company has applied to the Department of Electricity Development for construction approval, which the Department is required to issue under clause (4) of the Electricity Act, 2049.

The project is expected to be completed within five years of commencement. The Department has also issued a public notice inviting feedback and suggestions on the proposed project.
