The Muglin–Kathmandu section of the Prithvi Highway has been completely blocked after continuous rainfall, flooding and landslides caused the road foundation to collapse at Krishnabhir in Dhading.

According to the Bagmati Province Traffic Police Office, floodwaters have eroded a large portion of the highway, causing the road and adjoining slope to sink. As a result, vehicles are currently unable to operate from either direction along the affected section.

With the highway completely halted, hundreds of vehicles and thousands of passengers traveling to and from Kathmandu have been stranded midway along the route.

The situation has become increasingly risky as water levels in the Trishuli and Narayani rivers have risen significantly, while landslides continue to occur at several locations along the highway.

Police have warned that the road remains highly dangerous due to the unstable conditions. They said it could take some time to repair the severely damaged section and restore vehicular movement.

Authorities have urged travelers to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel along the affected route until the road is deemed safe for transportation.
