Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said emphasis has been laid on economic development with the promulgation of the constitution after the termination of a protracted transition in Nepal, and so the investment climate in the country was encouraging as convenient legal and administrative processes have also been formulated to that end. PM Oli said so while addressing a seminar on China (Sichuan) - Nepal Economic and Trade Cooperation in Sichuan, China earlier today. Deputy General Secretary of the Government of Sichuan Province, Peng Jhong Ping and Vice Governor of Sichuan Province Gan Ling were present in the seminar. On the occasion, the PM stated that Nepal was building trade-related infrastructures. He further said that Special Economic Zones have been set up, Chinese Bank could also be established in Nepal so that investing in education, culture and information technology would be secure and profitable. "We are building international airports in Lumbini and Pokhara, famous tourism destinations. Since goods can be produced with cheap labour, the returns too would be high. Therefore, I urge the Chinese investors to invest in Nepal," he said. Stating that sister city relations would be established between Kathmandu and Chengdu, and Nepal is going to open consulate in Chengdu, PM Oli said the economic and trade relations between Nepal and China would hence be more stronger. Welcoming the PM on the occasion, the deputy general secretary Peng and vice governor Ling said that China could assist Nepal when needed and the bilateral trade and relations would grow once the consulate general is established.
