PM Balen Shah to Visit New York for UN General Assembly
Prime Minister Balen Shah is scheduled to travel to New York on September 22 (Ashoj 6) to attend and address the United Nations General Assembly. He is expected to return to Nepal on September 25 (Ashoj 9), with the visit planned as a short trip focused mainly on his address at the UN.
During his visit, Prime Minister Shah is expected to draw international attention to the growing effects of climate change, particularly following the heavy loss of lives and property caused by the Bhotekoshi floods. Nepal had earlier planned to send a delegation led by Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal to the UN General Assembly. However, following the floods, Prime Minister Shah will lead the Nepali delegation himself. The delegation is expected to include up to 10 members.
