Parliament to Begin Budget Discussions Today

Discussions on the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084 (2026/027) are scheduled to begin today during a meeting of the House of Representatives, under the ongoing federal parliament session. The national budget was previously presented by Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle on Jestha 15 (May 29).

According to the daily agenda published by the Parliament Secretariat, the 16th house meeting will convene at 1:00 PM today. During the session, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle will present a formal statement accompanied by a proposal to initiate general discussions on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the upcoming fiscal year.

Following the presentation of the proposal by the Finance Minister, members of parliament are scheduled to take the floor to participate in the deliberations and offer their initial evaluations of the government's financial plans.
