PAC instructs TSC to submit progress report

KATHMADU:

Public Accounts Committee of Legislature-Parliament has instructed Tax Settlement Commission (TSC) to submit its progress report through Ministry of Finance on a monthly basis.

The direction was given laying emphasis on transparency, when government is settling large chunks of revenue dues through TSC.

TSC, which was formed by the government a month back, had already started consultations with taxpayers having dues and tax administration to seek an amicable solution.

As per Chudamani Sharma, member of TSC and DG of Inland Revenue Department, 130,182 tax payers have dues worth Rs 48.14 billion from fiscal 2013-14.
