Over 24,000 fail to submit property details

The National Vigilance Centre has said more than 24,000 people assuming public posts/offices did not submit property details in the fiscal year 2071/072 BS.
A total of 24,376 public officials failed to submit the property details. The Centre said in its report that there were 361,107 persons to inform the Centre about their property.
Categorically, most of those failing to abide by the rule are teachers (14.59%), while those working in the local bodies constitute are 13.07 percent. The civil servants not complying with the rule are 9.23 percent.
Interestingly, even the Ministers and parliamentarians did not make public their property details, said the NVC, adding that former Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat was the one to hide information on his properties. Similarly, former Energy Minister Radha Gyawali and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Nilam KC (Mainali) made public the property details only after the stipulated date.
There are 37 lawmakers to flout the rule of making public the property details. RSS
