Over 2,200 Motorists Penalized in Kathmandu Valley in 24 Hours

A total of 2,256 motorists were penalized for violating traffic regulations across the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours, resulting in a revenue collection of Rs. 4 lakh 91 thousand, according to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.

The enforcement drive included action against 151 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol, 111 for illegal ride-sharing activities, 142 for ignoring traffic signals, and 230 for overspeeding.

Similarly, 33 drivers were penalized for not following lane discipline, 193 for unnecessary honking in restricted areas, 117 for improper parking in road zones, and 118 for driving on one-way streets. In addition, 1,161 individuals were booked for various other traffic violations, the office stated.

The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office said such regular monitoring and enforcement actions aim to improve road discipline and ensure safer traffic management across the Valley.
