NTC’s earns massive Rs 13.87 arba; EPS at Rs 93; comparatively low priced at NEPSE

Government owned Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) also known as Nepal Telecom has posted an impressive profit rise of 16.72 percent in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year 2071/72.
According to the financial statement for the fourth quarter of the company published today, it stated that its net profit (after tax) stands at Rs 13.87 arba as compared to Rs 11.55 arba in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year 2070/71.
The total income of NTC rose to Rs 41.18 arba, up from Rs 39.51 arba in the previous fiscal year. Likewise, the expenditure of the bank was Rs 22.27 arba in the last fiscal year as compared to Rs 24.27 arba in the previous year. NTC is able to decrease its total expenditure by Rs 2 arba this fiscal year.
The company’s report shows that the ‘operation and maintenance’ costs of Rs 7.47 arba accounted the highest portion of its total expenditure, followed by ‘personal costs’, ‘depreciation’ and ‘license fee’, among other headings.
In its management analysis in the report, the company also stated that it has managed to record a noteworthy growth in performance by expanding its products and services.
Nepal Telecom, which has the highest capitalization in the only stock exchange of the country, further reported that its EPS now stands at Rs 92.48, P/E ratio at 6.88 times and the net worth per share is now stands at Rs 428.29.
Nepal Telecom has Rs 15 arba paid up capital and has impressive Rs 49.24 arba in reserve and surplus. Its last traded price is Rs 620 which seems to be comparatively low priced at NEPSE.
