NRB Plans a Massive Rs. 2 Coin Supply: 300 Million Pieces Up for Bid

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has invited bids from pre-qualified security printing companies for the designing, minting, supply and delivery of 300 million pieces of Rs. 2 denomination circulation coins. The bid notice was published on October 5, 2026, with the procurement estimated to cover the supply of the coins and related services.
Interested pre-qualified companies can purchase the bidding documents until November 3, 2026. The pre-bid meeting will be held on October 16 at the NRB’s Currency Management Department in Thapathali, Kathmandu.
Sealed bids must be submitted by 12:00 PM on November 4, 2026, while the bids will be opened at 1:00 PM the same day. The bid must remain valid for 120 days, with a minimum bid security of USD 132,000.
