NRB Mopping Rs 40 Billion From Banking System Today
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is withdrawing Rs 40 billion today to manage excess liquidity in the market. The central bank will collect the amount for a period of 89 days through its deposit collection instrument.
The bank has invited eligible banks and financial institutions (BFIs) to participate in the bidding process scheduled for 3 PM today. According to NRB, both principal and interest payments on the collected funds will be settled on May 17, 2026.
This fresh liquidity absorption follows a series of similar interventions by the central bank to manage surplus liquidity in the financial system.
