NRB Deputy Governor Kiran Pandit Holds Over 6,500 Shares Across Banking and Hydro Sectors
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Deputy Governor Kiran Pandit has officially disclosed his property details, revealing a diverse financial portfolio across real estate, precious metals, and the capital market. According to the official document released by the Governor’s Office, Pandit and his family hold significant land assets in Tokha, Tarakeswor, and Dhangadhi, alongside ancestral properties in Kathmandu and Tanahun. His liquid wealth is bolstered by over NPR 2 crore in various bank accounts and a collection of jewelry including 20 tolas of gold, 250 tolas of silver, and diamonds valued at NPR 2 lakh.
His stock market investments are particularly extensive, as detailed in the official disclosure. In his own name, the Deputy Governor holds 2,948 units in Banks and Financial Institutions (BFIs), 3,606 units in the Hydropower sector, and 36 units in Insurance companies, all sourced from personal earnings. His family also participates in the market; his wife, Kamana Sharma Pandit, owns 511 units in BFIs and 12 units in Insurance, while his son, Abhyudaya Pandit, holds 220 units in BFIs and 12 units in Insurance. The disclosure notes that all shares were subscribed through primary offerings, though some remain to be updated for stock dividends as not all have been dematerialized. This transparency move follows his appointment on Chaitra 24, 2082, as part of the bank's commitment to good governance.
