Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has issued a public notice regarding the supply and distribution of 14.2 kg cooking gas cylinders, which have been back on the market since July 16, 2026 (Asar 31, 2083 BS). Despite importing and distributing around 20% more gas than usual, the corporation acknowledged growing complaints from the general public who are still struggling to buy cylinders easily.

Following complaints received by its rapid response desk, NOC conducted market inspections and discovered that several businesses including hotels, restaurants, and party venues have been stocking up on more cylinders than they actually need. NOC has urged all commercial establishments to stop unnecessary hoarding and immediately return excess cylinders to local dealers so they can be distributed to regular consumers. The corporation warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone caught hoarding gas cylinders against these directions.
