No bar in clearance of goods from India: Raxaul Customs Office

Indian Customs Office in Raxaul has said that the office has not barred export of goods to Nepal from India. Chief of the office Kamlesh Kumar said clearance of goods has not been halted. According to him, clearance slowed due to traffic jam and security reasons. “We talked with officials at Birgunj Customs Office regarding the miscommunication this morning,” he said. Chief of Birgunj Customs Office Mitralal Regmi too claimed there has been no halt in export of goods from India. “There are no obstacles,” Regmi told Myrepublica, “We are in contact with Indian officials.” He, however, added that Indian security personnel have heightened security checks after violent incidents in Nepal and upcoming election in Indian state of Bihar. Meanwhile, Indian Oil Corporation has not allowed some two dozen tankers to load fuels citing that they have failed to meet criteria during checking.
