Nine Parliamentary Committees to Meet Today on Key Legislative and Governance Issues
Meetings of nine parliamentary committees under the Federal Parliament are scheduled to take place today, with discussions ranging from financial legislation and tourism to infrastructure, agriculture, governance and public accountability.
The Finance Committee will meet at 11:00 am to discuss the bill designed to amend the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058. Finance Minister and the Finance Secretary have been invited to participate in the meeting.
The International Relations and Tourism Committee is also scheduled to meet at 11:00 am. The committee will hold discussions with stakeholders on the Tourism Bill, 2081.
Meanwhile, the Industry and Commerce and Labour and Consumer Welfare Committee will meet at 10:00 am to discuss complaints received by the committee.
The Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee will also convene at 10:00 am. Its meeting will focus on discussions with producers of bio-fertilizers.
The Infrastructure Development Committee will meet at 10:00 am to discuss the Bagmati Beautification Project.
Similarly, the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee will meet at 11:00 am for discussions with office-bearers of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) regarding the commission’s activities.
The Education, Health and Information Technology Committee is scheduled to meet at 10:00 am to discuss the Bill on National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation), 2081.
The Public Accounts Committee, also meeting at 10:00 am, will hold discussions on the auditing of foreign assistance received by Nepal.
Meanwhile, the Legislation Management Committee will convene at 1:00 pm to discuss issues related to parliamentary interrelations.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the meetings are part of the committees’ ongoing deliberations on legislation, government activities and matters of public concern.
