NIICE to Host Global Webinar on Perception of Balen Shah’s Leadership
The Nepal Institute for International Cooperation and Engagement (NIICE) is organizing a webinar titled “How The World Sees Balen’s Leadership in Nepal” on April 29, 2026. The event will run from 14:00 to 16:30 and will feature 26 diplomats, policymakers, scholars, and experts from 25 countries, including India, the USA, China, Japan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal.
The discussion will focus on global perceptions of the leadership of Prime Minister Balen Shah and the evolving political landscape of Nepal. The current government, led by Balen Shah, holds nearly a two-thirds majority in the lower house of Parliament after the March elections influenced by the Gen Z movement.
Prominent speakers include former ambassadors, UN advisors, and international relations experts such as Pankaj Saran, Manjeev Singh Puri, Dr. Zhang Jiadong, Rob York, Cynthia Petrigh, and Joëlle Hivonnet. The webinar aims to foster dialogue on Nepal’s political direction and its global implications.
NIICE, which is marking its 10th anniversary, has been actively engaged in global policy discussions through initiatives like the Indo-Pacific Future Forum, NIICE Global Conclave, International Studies Convention, and International Women Summit. It is also recognized as the only think tank in Nepal working extensively on nuclear non-proliferation issues.
