New features to be added in Nepal Telecom app
KATHMANDU, March 3:
Nepal Telecom (NT) is working to add new features in its mobile application named ´Nepal Telecom´ which was launched on February 5.
Dilli Adhikari, deputy manager of NT, said that they were trying to improve the app by adding features such as Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) phone incorporation, free SMS services, customer profile information, news related to telecommunications sector, and other value additions.
The state-owned telecom operator launched the app to provide product information, billing information and payment service, and handle complaints of subscribers, among others.
It is estimated that there are 3 million smartphone users in Nepal.
The app is currently available in Google Play Store only. "We will make the available in Apple´s App Store within three weeks," Adhikari said.
The app allows users to top-up balance, transfer balance, inquire about balance, activate and configure data service, and activate friends and family information. Similarly, it provides bill payment information, allows users to file complaints and displays notices and other organizational information of NT.
According to Adhikari, the app has already been downloaded more than 10,000 times.
Buddhi Prasad Acharya, managing director of NT, said the app aims to provide different facilities to users through a single platform. “We will improve the app based on and feedbacks we receive from our customers and make it better in the coming days,” Acharya said.
