New act related to land will resolve problems: Minister Subba

Kathmandu District Committee of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)-Nepal on Sunday has drawn the attention of Minister for Land Reforms and Management, Ram Kumar Subba, demanding stoppage of transaction of different Guthis in the capital for the protection of land. The 10-point memo submitted to Minister Subba demanded preservation of land of the different Guthis as well as systematic distribution of land to squatters, among others. On the occasion, Minister Subba said that preparation was underway to formulate a new land act to end the land-related problems and also expressed commitment to resolve all the problems seen at land sector, RPP-Nepal leader Devendra Pradhan noted while quoting Minister Subba as saying. Stating that the Ministry has been collecting suggestion from experts for the amendment of the land-related act, he said most of the problems would be resolved as the new act has given priority to arrangement and distribution of land to land-less, squatters, Kamaiya, Haliyas and marginalized group.
