NEPSE plunges 8.81 points; turnover amounts Rs 66.4 crore

NEPSE index dipped down by 8.81 points or 0.73 percent to close at 1191.34 level.
Opening at 1200 level this afternoon the benchmark index gained meager points to reach above 1205 level within 20 minutes of trading and there after stepped downhill throughout the day to close below 1200 level.
The total turnover of the day stood at Rs 66.4 crore where more than 12 lakh unit shares of 136 companies were traded through 2997 transactions.
Shares of KBL, EBL and promoter shares of NIB were traded amounting more than 5 crore.
NLICL, LUBL, PRVU, CHCL, LICN and NICA were among the maximum traded shares of the day.
Commercial banks shares were traded amounting more than 34 crore whereas Insurance companies were traded more than Rs 12.2 crore.
Hotels, Development, Finance and Manufacturing were the sub-indices to land in green.
However Banking , Hydropower and Insurance loosed points of double digits.
Others recorded meager plunge of 3.52 points to close at 748.37 level.
Share price of MDBL, NIL, SHINE and YETI surged by more than 9 percent. SODBL, SBBLJ, BLDBL and ICFC were among the top gainers of the day.
Whereas prices of SLICL, KEBL, REDBL, ALICL, PRIN and PICL decreased maximum today.
