NEPSE Index Plummets 14.87 Points To Close at 2,634.23 Levels; UPCL Emerges Turnover Leader

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a loss today, falling by 14.87 points (0.56%) to settle at 2,634.23. This follows a 12.53-point loss in the previous session.

The benchmark index opened at 2,650.54, touching an intraday high at 2,669.28, while the lowest point was 2,632.29. Total turnover for the day reached Rs. 9.63 Arba, with 21,828,231 shares traded across 314 companies through 102,445 transactions. The market capitalization stood at Rs. 43.81 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 14.66 Kharba.

UNIVERSAL POWER COMPANY LTD (UPCL) topped the turnover chart, amounting to Rs. 67.20 Crores. The stock closed at Rs. 438.70.

Two companies led the gainers' list, hitting the upper circuit limit.

Meanwhile, Nepal Micro Insurance Company Limited (NMIC) recorded the steepest drop, falling 6.22%.

Among sectors, the Life Insurance Index posted the highest increase of 0.95%, whereas the Trading Index saw the highest loss of 2.46%.
