The stock market gained a minimal 6.28 points (0.45%) today and ultimately closed at 1397.57.
Overall 14.28 points volatility was observed during trading hours, with the highest point being 1403.76 and the lowest being 1389.48.
1,214,514 shares were traded that amounted to Rs. 39.31 crores in turnover amount. This is a significantly lower turnover compared to other trading days. This is because Kathmandu and numerous other districts are in lockdown from today, which is why the only way to trade is via online or by calling the brokers. Since not even bank employees were allowed to travel today, it is likely that operation was obstructed in most broker companies as well.
Meanwhile, 182 scrips were traded via only 8,326 transactions.
Neco Insurance Company Limited (NIL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 3.02 crores. Meanwhile, Nepal Bank Limited's shares traded the most today.
Samriddhi Finance Company Limited (SFCL) gained the most 9.92% today. This is likely because it announced only shareholders who own shares before Bhadra 12 are entitled to the 200% right shares issue.
On the other hand, Joshi Hydropower Development Company Limited (JOSHI) lost the most 6.45%.
Hotels and Mutual funds lost today, with Hotels losing the most 0.29%.
Among all other sectors that ended green, Trading gained the most 2.38%.
