NEPSE gains 20 points with turnover crossing Rs.50 Crore; two hydropower companies hit the positive circuit today along with one microfinance company

The market today registered a gain of 1.78% or 20.33 points. The benchmark index closed at 1163.26 points. The turnover showed considerable improvement as it stood at Rs.52.77 Crore which was achieved from trade of 1,954,056 units of shares traded through 7,679 transactions trading scrips of 176 listed companies in the process.

Machhapuchhre Bank Limited (MBL) posted today’s highest turnover of Rs.3.15 Crore followed by Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank (NCCB) with turnover of Rs.3.11 Crore. In terms of shares traded, NCCB stood ahead with trade of 144,296 units of shares followed by MBL whose 143.787 units of shares were traded.

Three companies hit the positive circuit today. Synergy Power (SPDL) gained 10% or 9 points and closed at Rs.99 per share. Similarly, Support Microfinance (SMB) and Himalayan Power Partner (HPPL) gained 9.87% and 9.55% respectively. Citizens Mutual Fund-1 (CMF1) was today’s top loser as it lost 1.92% to close at Rs.8.66 per units.

Sensitive Index gained 4.21 points and closed at 247.47 points while Float Index gained 1.49 points and closed at 84.86 points.

All the sub-indices ended in the green zone after gaining points. Hydropower sector gained the most at 2.77% followed by Banking sector which gained 2.27%.
