NEPSE falls by double digits with a disappointing turnover; two companies hit the positive circuit today

The market seems to be back on the losing track after it lost double digits today. The benchmark index lost 1.13% or 12.72 points and closed at 1112.23 points. Today’s turnover was disappointingly low at Rs.16.61 Crore which was achieved through trade of 681,138 units of shares traded through 3,689 transactions trading scrips of 162 listed companies in the process.

Today’s trade was dominated by Upper Tamakoshi (UPPER) as 41,490 units of shares exchanged hands posting a turnover of Rs.93.50 Lakhs. The LTP of the hydropower company stands at Rs.224 per share.

Two companies hit the positive circuit today. Shree Ram Sugar Mills (SRS) gained 9.40% or 14 points and closed at Rs.163 per share while Chautari Laghubitta (CHLBS) gained 9.84% or 49 points and closed at Rs.547 per share. Today’s top loser was Nepal Seva Laghubitta (NSEWA) as it lost 5.38% or 31 points and closed at Rs.545 per share.

Sensitive Index lost 2.57 points and closed at 236.34 points while Float Index lost 1.01 points and closed at 80.80 points.

Manufacturing and Processing was the only sub-index in the green zone after it gained 0.44%. Rest of the sub-indices ended in the red zone after losing points. Top loser among them was Life Insurance sector after it lost 2.91% or 167.83 points.
