NEPSE drops by 8.89 points; NTC down by Rs 48 (7.39%)

NEPSE index dipped down by maximum of 8.89 points or 0.93 percent to close at 942.40 level on the last trading day of this week.

Similarly NEPSE Sensitive and Float also dropped by 2.24 and 0.29 points to close at 200.19 and 66.43 levels respectively.

Opening at 951.29 level this afternoon the local bourse came down to 943 level within the initial hour and thereafter was not able to recover back and finally closed at 942.40 level.

Drop in share price of NTC by Rs 48 or 7.39 percent was the main reason of plunge in NEPSE index.

Each sub-index landed in red today. Banking came down to 822.01 level by 1.3 point or 0.16 percent.

Similarly Development (797.10) and Finance (535.44) dropped by 2.49 and 1.12 points respectively.

HydroPower (2168.04) and Hotels (1927.64) slipped by double digit of 10.35 and 32.29 points respectively.

Insurance (4054.07) dropped by meager 0.3 points whereas Others scanted maximum of 56.38 points or 7.39 percent to close at 706.08 level.

Altogether 535,738 unit shares of 123 companies were traded through 1,331 transactions worth Rs 276.15 million which included Rs 3.72 million of manual turnover.

Shares of CSDBl, NTC, PURBL and EIC were traded maximum today.

BUDBL, KEBL. CNDBL and NCCB were among the top gainers of the day whereas CSDBL, NTC and PURBL were among the top losers of the day
