NEPSE Drops Below 2,600 After a Year, Revisiting July 2025 Levels

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a double-digit loss today, losing by 19.13 points (0.73%) to close at 2,599.58. This follows a 10.67-point loss in the previous trading session. With today’s drop, the NEPSE has slipped below the 2,600-point mark for the first time in about a year, returning to levels last seen in 16 July 2025.

The benchmark index opened at 2,618.62 and fluctuated between an intraday high of 2,620.13 and a low of 2,593.31 before settling at the close. Total turnover for the day amounted to Rs. 3.23 Arba, with 8,572,970 shares traded across 350 companies through 53,153 transactions. The total market capitalization stood at Rs. 44.71 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 15.08 Kharba.

Reliance Spinning Mills Limited (RSML) topped the turnover chart, recording transactions worth Rs. 12.72 crores. The company’s stock closed at Rs. 2,728.00.

Sarvottam Paints Industries Limited (SAPIL) hit the upper circuit with a 14.99% gain. The stock closed at Rs. 917.20 .

Meanwhile, Panchakanya Mai Hydropower Ltd (PMHPL) recorded the Highest fall, falling by 9.83%. The last traded price of the company was Rs. 311.90.

Among sectors, the HydroPower Index recorded the highest loss, losing by 1.19%, while the Hotels And Tourism Index recorded the least loss, down 0.01%.
