NEPSE down by 5.84 points; turnover just around Rs 100 million

The benchmark index of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) dropped down by 5.84 points or 0.62 percent to close at 934.25 level.

Similarly NEPSE Sensitive and Float also dipped by 1.27 point and 0.43 point to close at 198.61 and 65.85 level respectively.

Opening at 939.94 level this afternoon, the local bourse stepped down throughout the day.

Among the sub-indices, Banking sliced 6.56 points or 0.8 percent to close at 816.98 level.

Similarly Development (789.71) and Finance (532.27) dropped by 3.18 and 0.72 points respectively.

HydroPower (216.19) and Hotels (1958.07) plunged by 5.27 and 9.21 points respectively.

Insurance (3981.74) and Others (687.29) went down by 20.14 and 5.87 points respectively.

Trading was the only sector to land in green with the surge of 3.3 points to close at 196.93 level.

Altogether 589,125 unit shares of 113 companies were traded through 1,089 transactions worth Rs 103.27 million.

Shares like CHCL, NLIC, GBIME and SANIMA were most traded shares of the day.

LGIL, CNDBL and SEWA were the average gainers whereas JBNL, JFL and CDBL were the top losers of the day.
