NEPSE closes at 978.44 level; Turnover below Rs 200 million.

The benchmark Index of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) plunged 5.62 points or 0.57 percent to close at 978.44 level on the last trading day of this week.


Similarly Nepse Sensitive and Float also dropped by 1.05 and 0.4 points to close at 208.08 and 68.78 level respectively.

Opening at 984.06 level this afternoon the local bourse stepped downhill throughout the day.

The total turnover of the day stood at only Rs 197.40 million.

Among the sub-indices, Banking stepped down by 4.91 points or 0.57 percent to stand at 852.61 level.

Finance (541.73) and Hotels (2021.80) slipped meager 0.83 and 6.41 points respectively.

Development (829.89) and Manufacturing (1446.31) were the sectors to land in green with the surge of 1.56 and 2.8 points respectively.


HydroPower (2235.17) and Insurance (4212.15) dipped by double digit of 18.11 and 73.84 points respectively.

Others managed to remain at 755.42 level.

Altogether 570,330 unit shares of 153 companies were traded through 1,711 transactions worth Rs 197.40 million.

CHCL, UIC, NHPC and PRVU were the most traded shares.

CSDBL, KKBL, MTBL, and KNBL were among the top gainers of the day.

KRBL, NBSL, SFL and RHPC were the top losers of the day.
