NEPSE at its two months low; slips below 960 level

NEPSE dropped down by double digit of 11.54 points or 1.19 percent to close below 960 at 959.14 level.

NEPSE Sensitive and Float also plunged by 2.92 and 0.78 points to close at 203.87 and 67.42 levels respectively.

Opening at 970.70 level this afternoon, the local bourse leaned downward through the day.

The benchmark index is at this low almost after 2 months compared to closing of 945.36 level on January 16, 2015.

However the turnover has increased than yesterday to amount total of Rs 171.32 million.

Among the sub-indices, Banking fell down by double digit of 11.19 points to close at 833.53 level.

Similarly Development and Finance plunged by 12.86 and 1.31 points to stand at 811.58 and 540.73 levels respectively.

Hotels was the only sector to land in green today with surge of 5.83 points to close at 2020.43 level.

HydroPower (2197.88) and Insurance (4116.25) dropped by 18.05 and 20.82 points respectively.


Manufacturing slipped meager 0.07 points whereas Others dipped maximum of 18.79 points to settle at 1446.24 and 740.15 levels respectively.

Altogether 453,475 unit shares of 140 companies were traded through 1497 transactions worth Rs 171.32 million.

NLICL, CHCL were traded maximum today.

Bagmati Development, NCDB and ALDBL were among the top gainers of the day whereas METRO, SHBL and CDBL were the top losers of the day.
