Nepali Army, Technical Team Mobilised for Rescue Operation at Trishuli-3 ‘B’ Project
A technical team, including personnel from the Nepali Army (NA), has been deployed to the Trishuli-3 ‘B’ Hydropower Project to carry out search and rescue operations following the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river systems.
According to the Secretariat of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, the Nepali Army team, supported by technical personnel and site engineers, has started rescue efforts at the project site.
The project chief and the chief of the consulting company have also reached the site to coordinate the ongoing rescue operation. A significant number of project workers are reportedly believed to be trapped inside the project tunnel following the disaster.
The Ministry said the search and rescue team is conducting the operation on high alert despite challenging conditions. Adverse weather, difficult terrain and the hazardous situation at the project site have created additional challenges for the rescue teams.
Authorities are continuing efforts to locate the workers and carry out their safe rescue as the search operation remains underway.
