Nepal Rastra Bank to Circulate New Rs. 500 Banknotes from Asar 3

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced that new Rs. 500 banknotes will be brought into circulation from Asar 3, 2083. The new notes will have the same size and colour as the existing Rs. 500 notes and will carry the signature of Governor Dr. Bishwanath Paudel. The notes will have serial numbers ranging from jha 000001 to Ta 999999.

According to the Currency Management Department of NRB, the front side of the note features Mount Everest, a watermark of Laligurans, a security thread, and a colour changing image along with an image of Kubera on the right side of Mount Everest, which appears golden when viewed straight and green when tilted.
