The Nepal Layers Association has increased the price of eggs effective from today, attributing the adjustment to rising production costs.

According to the Association, the price of large eggs has been fixed at Rs 425 per crate, while medium-sized eggs will now cost Rs 375 per crate.

The Association stated that the revision was necessary as the cost of production has climbed significantly, with the current production expense reaching Rs 19.12 per egg.

Producers say the price adjustment is aimed at sustaining operations amid increasing feed, transportation, and farm management costs, while ensuring a steady supply of eggs in the market.
