Nepal-Japan 70th Anniversary Cultural Festival Set for November 22

A special cultural festival marking 70 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan will be held at Durbarmarg, kathmandu on November 22, 2026.

The event is being jointly organized by the Government of Nepal, the Embassy of Japan in Nepal and Kathmandu Metropolitan City. 

Japanese band GODIEGO will headline the festival, returning to Nepal more than four decades after its 1980 performance at Dasharath Stadium. Nepali artists will also perform, alongside cultural, tourism and commercial activities representing both countries.

The organizers said any surplus from the event after expenses will be donated to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund. The festival will also promote Nepal as a tourism destination and encourage visitors from Japan and other countries.
