Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited (NIMB) has agreed with Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) to become a principal member of the National Card Switch & Domestic Card Scheme (NEPALPAY Card). The agreement was signed by NIMB CEO Jyoti Prakash Pandey and NCHL CEO Neelesh Man Singh Pradhan.

With the infrastructure for NEPALPAY already in place, NIMB will soon be able to issue and acquire NEPALPAY Cards for its customers.

This move is part of a national initiative to enhance card interoperability, reduce reliance on international schemes, lower transaction costs, and promote data localization and digital innovation.

As a major commercial bank, NIMB currently operates its own card switch and provides services to several other banks and financial institutions. Integration with NPS-NCS will enable not only NIMB but also its associated partner banks to offer NEPALPAY Cards. NIMB's vast network spans 275 branches, 65 extension counters, and 265 ATMs nationwide. The partnership is expected to significantly boost Nepal's domestic card infrastructure and digital payment ecosystem.
