Nepal Chamber Hands Over Relief Supplies to Flood-Affected Communities

The Nepal Chamber of Commerce has handed over relief supplies collected for people affected by the Bhotekoshi flood to the government.

A Chamber delegation led by Senior Vice President and Disaster Management Council Chair Deepak Kumar Malhotra reached the Nepal Police Disaster Response Training Centre in Samakhusi on Sunday to hand over the supplies to the District Administration Office, Kathmandu. Relief items collected by the Youth Chamber were also included.

The consignment includes beaten rice (chiura), biscuits, sanitary pads, toothpaste, toothbrushes, gloves, masks, T-shirts and pulses, among other essential items. The Chamber also distributed drinking water, noodles, soap, diapers, blankets, medicines, rice and clothing in coordination with Leo District Council 325 G, Nepal.

The Chamber has been involved in relief and emergency support following the Bhotekoshi flood, which caused significant damage in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading. It has previously provided 17 drones to Nepal Police, two drones and 125 power banks to Bidur Municipality, and financial assistance to district-level Chambers in affected areas.

The Chamber said it will continue collecting and distributing essential food, clothing and health supplies while working with the government on relief and rehabilitation efforts.
