The Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) and the Embassy of Zimbabwe held a pivotal meeting in Kathmandu to enhance bilateral trade, investment, tourism, and climate cooperation. NCC President Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal emphasized the nearing 40-year diplomatic relationship and proposed establishing resident embassies to facilitate deeper economic ties. He invited Zimbabwean investors to explore Nepal’s secure investment climate, especially in hydropower, tourism, and infrastructure, highlighting Nepal’s recent BB-minus sovereign credit rating.

Ambassador Stella Nkomo responded with strong interest, praising Nepal’s tourism appeal and energy potential. She pledged to advocate for a resident Zimbabwean embassy and stronger private sector collaboration. Both parties agreed to organize B2B meetings and pursue long-term economic cooperation, aiming to turn diplomatic goodwill into actionable business partnerships.
