Ncell seeks applications for App Camp 2015

KATHMANDU, Aug 11:

Ncell App Camp -- a mobile application development competition -- is back again, with Ncell opening registration for all interested mobile enthusiasts to submit their mobile app ideas for Ncell App Camp 2015.

According to a press release issued on Tuesday, Ncell has already unveiled the official website of the event http://www.ncellappcamp.com. Interested applicants can register their teams and submit their app idea through the website by September 20.

"We are pleased to launch Ncell App Camp 2015, a competition that aims to unleash the country's digital potential," Erim Taylanlar, CEO of Ncell, said in the statement. "Ncell App Camp is not a mere competition; it is a platform through which we wish to inspire youth to build innovative businesses, be a part of global app industry and contribute to country's economic growth."

Ncell has sought applications under four categories -- Games and Entertainment, Health, Tourism, and Utilities. "These categories cover important sectors of our economy. Hence, innovative solutions on these fronts can make profound positive impact on people's lives. These are also the sectors around which young innovative businesses can thrive," Milan Sharma, corporate communications expert of Ncell, said in the release.

The category winners would be rewarded with cash prize of Rs 250,000, and one grand winner, best app among the category winners, will receive additional prize of Rs 500,000 and also an opportunity to participate in a similar international event, according to the release.
