NCC and UNDP Join Forces to Build Climate-Resilient Business Ecosystem in Nepal

The Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have signed a strategic partnership to tackle the increasing impact of climate change on Nepal’s business sector. Signed in Kathmandu, the agreement focuses on climate risk assessment, mitigation strategies, disaster preparedness, and promotion of a green economy, particularly supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Both parties emphasized the urgent need for business resilience, highlighting initiatives such as risk insurance, a proposed disaster response fund, awareness programs, and joint government engagement at all levels. Building on their prior collaboration in flood-affected areas of Kavre, NCC and UNDP aim to scale up efforts nationwide, positioning the business sector as a proactive leader in climate adaptation and sustainability.
