Narendra Ballav Panta Announces Candidacy for IPPAN Vice President
Narendra Ballav Panta, a young energy entrepreneur and the current treasurer of the Independent Power Producers' Association, Nepal (IPPAN), has officially announced his candidacy for the position of Vice President. The election will take place during IPPAN's upcoming annual general meeting on Jestha 29 (12 June). Panta is contesting the election as part of a panel led by Uttam Blon Lama, who is running for the position of Senior Vice President.
Panta brings extensive experience to his bid, serving as the chairman of the 22.5 megawatt (MW) Thulo Khola Hydropower Limited. Under his executive leadership, several other major projects have completed construction and successfully generated electricity, including United Modi Hydropower (10 MW), Taksar Pikhukhola Hydropower (8 MW), and United Mewa Hydropower (50 MW). Beyond his completed projects, Panta holds investments in various other energy projects that total a capacity of over 600 MW.
In addition to his work in the energy sector, Panta is highly active in the broader business community. He is an executive committee member of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and heads its energy committee. He also serves as the chairman of the Dev Group, a business conglomerate with diverse investments spanning construction, hydropower, and investment companies.
