Narayani Hospital Burn Treatment Camp Provides Free Care to 150 Patients
A free burn treatment camp organized at Narayani Hospital, Birgunj, has provided consultation and treatment services to 150 patients. The camp was jointly organized by the hospital and Nabil Bank with technical support from FACT Nepal, held from Baisakh 17 to 20 in Birgunj.
During the camp, 46 patients underwent surgeries performed by senior doctors, while six critical cases were referred to Kirtipur Hospital, Kathmandu, for further treatment. Before the camp, screening programs were conducted across 27 local levels in six districts of Madhesh Province to identify patients in need of care.
Medical experts, including a team led by senior plastic surgeon Dr. Shankar Man Rai, provided surgical and consultation services. The initiative aimed both to treat burn patients and strengthen the capacity of Narayani Hospital for future care. According to Nabil Bank CEO Manoj Kumar Gyawali, the program is part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility efforts to improve access to specialized healthcare in underserved regions.
Similar camps are planned in Lumbini Province later this month. Hospital officials and medical experts expressed satisfaction with the outcomes, noting that the camp significantly improved the quality of life for long-suffering burn patients.
