MoAD interaction for budget preparation
KATHMANDU:
The Ministry of Agricultural Development (MoAD) organised interactions with farmers of five development regions of the nation to collect suggestions for next annual budget of the Ministry.
The final interaction was held in Hariharbhawan of Lalitpur on Monday and Tuesday.
Minister for Agricultural Development Hari Prasad Parajuli was also present at the final interaction.
Speaking at the function, Minister Parajuli said the Ministry has directed its subordinate offices to focus on commercialisation of agriculture in all the districts.
MoAD Planning Division's Chief Yogendra Kumar Karki said the Ministry is planning to divide the nation in 15 regions and launch separate programmes there.
Consequently, district level officials at the interactions had presented lists of crops with commercial potential in their districts.
According to the Ministry, farmers across the nation demanded sufficient human resources at district level agricultural offices and development of agricultural infrastructures.
Senior agriculture officials at central, regional and district levels, farmers, agriculture entrepreneurs and journalists were present at the interactions.
Similar interactions were held in Dhangadhi of Far-West, Nepalgunj of Mid-West, Pokhara of West and Biratnagar of East earlier, according to the Ministry.
