Minister Pokhrel for tourism development

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Anand Prasad Dhungana, has said development of tourism sector could boost national economy. Inaugurating the President Cup Football Tournament organized by Madan Bhandari Sports Academy's Lumbini zonal committee here Tuesday, Minister Dhungana said all sides should focus on promotion of tourism. He added that Lumbini could be developed as the centre of attraction for Buddhists across the globe. According to him, timely completion of the greater Lumbini development project would help make Lumbini a historic place. On different note, he said for the promotion of the sports, the government was planning to build a stadium of international level in each province. In the inaugural match, Khanal Brothers defeated Madan Bhandari Sports Academy, Nawalparasi 4-0. A total of 12 teams including three departmental teams are taking part in the competition. The winner will walk home with Rs. 303,313 while the runner-up will win Rs. 155,511. RSS
