MetLife Nepal organized a large-scale tree plantation drive in Patap Village, Shankharapur Municipality, on June 6 to mark World Environment Day 2026. Supported by the MetLife Foundation and implemented in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation and the Field Institute for Ecocultural Restoration (EcoCulture), around 50 MetLife employees planted 500 fruit, nut, and native trees along the Highway F026 and Shankharapur Road corridor.

The initiative aims to promote sustainable agroforestry, restore biodiversity, reduce environmental risks such as soil erosion and landslides, and create long-term income opportunities for local communities. MetLife Nepal General Manager Nirmal Kajee Shrestha said the project reflects the company's commitment to environmental restoration, community resilience, and sustainable livelihoods. The plantation will be monitored and maintained through continued collaboration with local communities.
