Market turnover flourishes after more than 2 Million units of shares traded today; NEPSE closes at 1165.84 points

The market today reached a high of 1172 points, however, it stood to gain 0.17% or 2.01 points. The benchmark index closed at 1165.84 points today. The turnover today was worth Rs.54.58 Crore which was achieved from trade of 2,029,015 units of shares traded through 7,202 transactions trading scrips of 170 listed companies in the process.

Today’s highest turnover was posted by NIC Asia Bank (NICA). The commercial bank posted a turnover of Rs.4.37 Crore with its LTP standing at Rs.436 per share. Shares of Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank (NCCB) were traded the most today. A total of 188,793 units of shares exchanged hands. The LTP of the commercial bank stands at Rs.223 per share. Commercial Banks dominated the trade today.

Nepal Insurance Company Limited (NICL) was today’s top gainer as it gained 4.64% or 17 points and closed at Rs.383 per share. Universal Power Company (UPCL) continues to hit the negative circuit. The prices of the shares fell by 9.84% or 13 points and closed at Rs.119 per share.

Sensitive Index gained 0.57 points and closed at 248.72 points while Float Index gained 0.24 points and closed at 85.23 points.

Only Commercial Banks and Development Banks closed in the green zone today after gaining 0.44% and 0.42% respectively. Rest of the sub-indices ended in the red zone with Hotels losing the most at 0.89%.
