Market drops from high of 1150 point to close at 1143.59 points today; Bank of Kathmandu Limited dominates trade while Universal Power continues to lose

On the opening day of the week, the market reached a high of 1150 points. However, it stood to lose minimum of 0.08% or 0.91 points only. The benchmark index closed at 1143.59 points today. The turnover today stood at Rs.26.66 Crore which was achieved from trade of 950,643 units of shares traded through 5,777 transactions trading scrips of 165 listed companies in the process.
Today, shares of Bank of Kathmandu Limited (BOKL) were traded the most, posting the highest turnover. The commercial bank posted a turnover of Rs.2.12 Crore which was achieved through trade of 88,241 units of shares with its LTP standing at Rs.242 per share.
Arun Kabeli Power Limited (AKPL) was today’s top gainer after it gained 4.55% or 8 points and closed at Rs.184 per share. Universal Power Company Limited (UPCL) continues to hit the negative circuit. The newly listed hydropower company lost 9.49% or 17 points and closed at Rs.162 per share.
Sensitive Index lost 0.12 points and closed at 243.36 points while Float Index lost 0.04 points and closed at 83.31 points.
Banking, Manufacturing & Processing and Other were the only sub-indices that ended in the green zone today after gaining 0.02%, 1.62% and 0.41% respectively. Rest of the sub-indices ended in the red zone with Life Insurance sector losing the most at 0.89% or 52.93 points.
